Silver Pro Veg UK School Plates Award

We are delighted to be awarded with a Silver Pro Veg UK School Plates Award.

After extensive work across Learning without Limits Academy Trust supporting the Eco-Schools goal to create more sustainable school sites, I am delighted to share with you that we have achieved a Silver Pro Veg UK School Plates Award for our dine@Lancaster menu. We are super proud to achieve this silver award!

This award recognises that our school meals are healthy and more sustainable. We also actively promote inclusivity for our students, so that students with allergies and cultural preferences still have choices and can enjoy school meals with their classmates.

The importance of students eating a healthy meal every day is so important to me and the Trust. If there is any feedback about any dishes or any of the catering provision in general, do please share this with me and the Lancaster Team.

Mission

  • To provide healthy, well-balanced meals at an affordable price.
  • We recognise that students learn better and concentrate if they have eaten well, and believe that every student deserves good food, produced in our very own catering kitchens on site.
  • Get the day off to a good start - all of our Academies offer a free breakfast club so that no student starts the day hungry.

Menus

dine@Lancaster Menu

All dine@ menus are individually created, taking into consideration age ranges and demographics of the school catchment area – with some of the most popular dishes appearing on all 5 of our menus Trust-wide. We can provide a full nutritional analysis of our meals and specify the allergens found within our dishes.

We care about the environment and sustainability is really important to us.

We offer locally produced seasonal produce where possible and have also introduced more plant-based options. These options are more readily acceptable for different diets and cultures and therefore are more widely suitable.

Regular theme days are celebrated by dine@, which has included a range of flavours: Chinese New Year, Mexican, A Taste of Italy and A Taste of India, A Taste of Japan.

Feedback

At dine@Lancaster, we value the student voice. We are happy to try out suggestions and welcome any feedback through the student council. Please get in touch with us at dine@lwlat.org.uk.
