Careers LRI Visit
Today 20 students from year 9 and 11 visited the LRI to attend a Careers in Medicine event. They learnt about radiology and how to identify irregularities on scans and about different career pathways that could take them into a variety aspects of medicine. they also took part in practical sessions led by NHS professionals including CPR, blood pressure, detecting heart problem with a stethoscope and examining ears and eyes. They also got to try out a machine that is used to train people to undertake endoscopies and heart surgery. they thoroughly enjoyed and most of them want to pursue a career in medicine.
